1. National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON): My heart is with everyone impacted by these fires and I’m deeply worried about the immigrant day laborers, undocumented workers and mixed-status families who are a part of the fiber of daily life in Los Angeles. Many no longer have homes or businesses to return to for work and they don’t have the same access to insurance or resources as other Angelenos. They pay into our unemployment and social security systems, but do not receive those benefits...

National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) is working to help undocumented Angelenos whose lives have been upended by the wildfires find safety, food, and stability.

2. World Central Kitchen: World Central Kitchen is often the first to arrive on the frontlines to provide free meals after humanitarian and climate crises. From WCK: "Food is essential to life every single day, all over the world—and it is more important than ever in a crisis. Not only is a thoughtful, freshly prepared meal one less thing someone has to worry about in the wake of a disaster, it is a reminder that you are not alone, someone is thinking about you, and someone cares. Food has the power to be the nourishment and hope we need to pick ourselves back up in the darkest times.” WCK is on the ground distributing free hot meals at several locations in Southern California in response to the active wildfires in and near Los Angeles.
