A small business with a big heart...
Ever since its inception in 2003, supporting nonprofits has been part of the ethos of A Stone's Throw. Whether it was in response to a hurricane in Haiti, an earthquake in Nepal, or a local initiative that pulled at her heartstrings, owner Kimberly Stafford has been using her fashion-based business to help others since day one.
Kimberly moved A Stone's Throw from Los Angeles to Portland in 2017. After two years of local events, she was amazed at the fervor her Pacific Northwest neighbors had for supporting small businesses.
At the start of 2019, Kimberly committed to donating 5-10% of A Stone's Throw's sales to local nonprofits with a focus on supporting women, children, refugees, and racial justice.
With the help of her delightful clientele, A Stone's Throw has sent nearly $85k to worthwhile organizations since 2019, and over $18k was donated in 2024 alone.
You can find our annual reports below, along with detailed information about our 2025 donations.
